I shall pass through this world but once.
As I become more familiar with Peter Moyes and all the things that are done in the School, I was very pleased to notice that the Lower Primary School has a focus on kindness at the moment. That reminded me of something that has been very influential in my life. I attended a Christian Brothers College for my schooling. It was there that a priest shared some words with us. They are simple words, but I have never forgotten them. They have coloured my actions in many of the situations that I face in life.
I shall pass through this world but once.
Any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
to any human being,
let me do it now.
Let me not defer not neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.
