Cocurricular Music

At Peter Moyes Anglican Community School we have a music culture with a varied programme catering to a wide range of musical tastes and abilities.

All students have an opportunity to be involved in the programme. Instrumental lessons are available in groups or as private sessions and are led by very talented peripatetic teachers at the school. Instruments that can be learned include: Trumpet, Trombone, Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, Percussion, Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello and Voice.

All Year 3 students participate in the String Programme in which students are tutored in small groups on either violin or cello. This programme is subsidised by the Parents and Friends Association and provides students with the foundations for delivering music skills.

All students also have the opportunity to become a member of one of the school's music ensembles including: Junior Choir, Senior Chorus, Senior Vocal Ensemble, String Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and the Peter Moyes Anglican Community School Concert Band.

There are a number of performance opportunities for students throughout the year within both the school and the local community. The music programme has its showcase each year at the Annual Music Concert – ‘A Night of Stars'. Peter Moyes Anglican Community School also receives a number of visits from professional ensembles each year. Past performers include Tetrafide Percussion, WA Opera Company and local rock band Snowman.
