Visual Arts Exhibition
The Peter Moyes ACS Art Exhibition showcases student work from Kindergarten to Year 12 and is displayed for parents and community members to enjoy. The exhibition is officially opened by an invited guest speaker, be they a practising artist, ex-student who has excelled in the Arts industry or other notable member of the local community. The Visual Arts Programme strongly encourages students to work across the Arts disciplines and this is reflected in the range of artwork and format of the annual exhibition.
Each year a theme is chosen for the exhibition. The chosen theme aims to reflect a common element from the Visual Arts Programme being delivered across the breadth of the School. This year the forthcoming Visual Arts exhibition is titled "Journey", and has been chosen to encapsulate the journey that we all partake in, be it one of internal growth, external enjoyment or a combination of these. It is hoped that our Visual Arts students undergo many enriching journeys through their involvement in the creative process of making and thinking. One such journey is that of Nicola Davies, graduate of 2010 whose artwork was exhibited in the prestigious Year 12 Perspectives 2010 Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Opening night has become an event that students, staff and the wider community look forward to with anticipation. Past highlights have included students dressed as "Living Statues" and modelling wearable art pieces. The range of artworks is impressive and a delight to be experienced.
Select items of artwork are chosen each year from the exhibition works on display and are framed around the School.
