Welcome to the Middle School
The Middle School (Years 7 to 9) has a strong focus on the academic, social, physical and spiritual experiences appropriate for early adolescents and is designed to meet the particular needs of our students by providing;
  • A smooth transition for students as they progress from being children to young adults.
  • A holistic approach with emphasis on achieving a balance between the academic, emotional, physical, social and spiritual development of the student.
  • A curriculum designed to approach learning in an integrated way providing links between the Learning Areas.
  • Experiences that develop independent learners who are ‘learning how to learn’ and who are able to make appropriate use of the school’s computer network and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
  • Consistency and continuity for students as they maintain relationships with the same group of students and teachers during the three years of Middle School.
  • Small "Learning Teams" of three or four classes based upon a year group.
  • Pastarol care provided by a house tutor who meets daily with the tutor group.(vertical structure with year 7, 8 & 9students in each group) With support from the year Coordinator in each year level.
  • A comfortable and supportive classroom environment including the use of a dedicated homeroom for each class and specialist classrooms when needed.
  • A strong focus on the development of effective interpersonal skills, collaborative approaches, teamwork and leadership skills in a range of contexts and situations.
  • Pastoral care and curriculum designed to meet the needs of the individual.
