The Primary School caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. We aim to provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment which allows our students to develop their natural curiosity, consolidate their skills and develop a love of learning. Our focus is on building strong foundations in the core Learning Areas, while emphasising social skills and spiritual growth.
The Primary School classrooms are colourful and spacious, designed for both formal and activity-based learning. The teachers of each year level work closely together in planning and evaluating to provide optimal learning opportunities for their students.
We employ specialist teachers for Music, Indonesian, Visual Arts and Physical Education, with students moving to the appropriate specialist facilities for these lessons. The specialist teachers, in conjunction with classroom teachers, also provide a range of activities such as concerts, cultural days, exhibitions and inter-school competitions.
Teachers provide academic learning programmes that cater for different learning styles. The lessons include play-based investigations, direct teaching, research and project work. We emphasise the holistic development of the child and offer our students the opportunity to develop their strengths and build on their weaknesses. Leadership opportunities are provided through formal leadership positions as well as informal roles within the class.
A key component of our Primary School is the partnership between parents, children and staff. We believe that each partner plays an important role in a holistic education and that a healthy partnership is important for the well being of the child. We encourage parent participation in school activities and are committed to maintaining positive relationships between home and school.
Our Primary School seeks to provide our students with a strong academic platform and love of learning, while encouraging the development of a social conscience, lifelong Christian values and a healthy respect for self.
