Welcome to the Senior School
The Senior School (Years 10 to 12) at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School:
  • Fosters the development of a "learning culture" which encourages and supports effort and participation and rewards students who strive for personal excellence.
  • Provides a range of appropriate courses to cater for the needs of students progressing to University, Technical And Further Education (TAFE) and the workplace.
  • Operates an innovative system of curriculum delivery, based on a modified Dalton Plan, in which teacher-directed classes are supported by weekly learning assignments and a significant and a comprehensive tutorial system that is embedded within the weekly timetable.
  • Strives to equip students with the knowledge and skills to be independent self-directed learners with the capacity to plan and organise their individual learning programs.
  • Employs a "state of the art" computer network to provide students with access to contemporary Information and Communication Technologies and to deliver the weekly learning assignments; and to implement the best possible practice in teaching and learning.
  • Conducts after school "Study Groups" staffed by subject teaching specialists to support students with their learning. Students have complete freedom to come and go according to their needs.
  • Delivers pastoral care through vertical (Years 10 to 12) "House" tutorial groups. Students remain in the same group with the same staff tutor for three years facilitating the development of good understandings and positive relationships.
  • Offers opportunities for students to participate in a selection of co-curricular activities and to seek a range of leadership roles.
