The School is seeking an experienced, professional and enthusiastic First Aid Officer to run the School’s Health Centre and join our fast-paced Business and Administration Team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of first aid services throughout the School. They will be the first point of call for injured or unwell students and staff, and for the administration of medications.
This position is 0.94 FTE, with one week off during the April, June/July and September/October school holidays in addition to four weeks annual leave.
Daily hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm, working Monday to Fridays. Salary information available upon request. To commence Monday 13 January 2025.
Previous experience as a nurse is not required for this position, however a working knowledge of First Aid in a community setting would be highly desirable. Advanced First Aid training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer First Aid to students and staff as necessary, ensuring medications and first aid policies are followed.
- Contacting parents regarding students who are ill and/or injured.
- Follow-up on ill or injured students.
- Responsible for the medical record keeping of students.
- Ensure that the School meets the criteria to qualify to be an ‘Asthma Friendly’ School.
- Maintain Medical Cabinets in the Health Centre to ensure all medication is in current date.
- Reporting of any infectious diseases to the Health Department, at the direction of the Executive Team.
- Prepare students medical reports, medications and medical supplies for excursions, camps and sports events.
- Responsible for the supply and maintenance of all first aid equipment, throughout the School, ensuring all items are in date.
- Ensure Staff and Student incident reporting procedure is followed and records entered in Synergetic/SEQTA/Consent2Go.
- Coordinate staff immunisations (eg. annual flu vaccination).

- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Initiative, creative problem-solving skills, flexibility, and capacity to support students at point of need.
- First Aid and CPR qualification.
- Discretion and confidentiality.
Desirable Selection Criteria
- Previous experience working in a School setting.
- Proficient in School software including Synergetic, SEQTA, Consent2Go and MS Office.
