A Lower Primary “100 Day’s at School” celebration last Tuesday was just the beginning to a fun and busy day for our young students. We came to school dressed in our comfortable pyjamas accompanied by 100 collected items from home.

As all celebrations should, it began with some singing and dancing. Mrs D and Miss Lazarus got the crowd going with some great songs and dance moves. One song in particular, “Honk, Honk, Rattle, Rattle”, caused the teaching staff some co-ordination difficulties; however, perseverance proved successful.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 2 were free to move around any of the classrooms and participate in activities that focused on the number 100. Students enjoyed challenges such as, making 100 magic wands from glow sticks, writing 100 words, constructing with K-NEX using 100 pieces, and making necklaces from fruit loops. It was a celebration that engaged students in activities that promoted fun and memorable learning.
