It seems that in a blink of any eye we are at the end of the first semester and half way through this year! It has been another busy term of learning opportunities for our students, both in and out of the classroom. Our students have had great sporting success in various sports, arenas and venues including the ACC Inclusive Sport Day, SSWA and ACC Cross Country carnivals, ACC Hockey carnivals for both boys and girls, SSWA Volleyball Competition and of course, our CAS Winter competition that saw seven teams take their place in Grand Finals last week. Our Music department has also been busy with a WA Opera Incursion for Year 8 students, A Winter Rocks Concert, and the popular ASC Piano Competition involving 180 competitors from eleven schools in the Anglican Schools Commission. Special mention to Bobby Yang and Joscelyn Melendez, who have competed in all seven competitions and to Joscelyn for winning her category and placing second overall. The Year 7's concluded their Peer Support Programme, where they had enjoyed the interaction with the Year 11 students. They also had a Study Skills incursion with ‘Elevate’ to work on time management skills. Year 9 Advanced Indonesian students had the opportunity to explore cultural aspects of music and dance with students from SD (Primary School) and SMP (Middle School) from Manado, North Sulawesi. We were very grateful to the North Sulawesi Community here in Perth, in conjunction with the Indonesian Consulate and once again welcomed Ibu Con Gen to the School.

On Tuesday of this week, all students attended the Inter-House Theatre Sports Grand Final, with Durack House taking out the top spot! As always, the Auditorium was a rainbow of House shirt colours with atmospheric music and lighting from Mr Frankish and Mr Deeg. We will add the Theatre Sports points to the House Cup totals and let students know which House is in the lead when we return to school after the holidays.

I have no doubt that both staff and students are looking forward to the holidays, and I wish all students a restful and relaxing break with quality family time. We will look forward to seeing all students safely back in school on Tuesday, July 23rd.
