Congratulations to all students who competed at the ACC Cross-Country Carnival on Thursday 1st June. Our result placed us 2nd Overall out of 71 competing Schools maintaining our position amongst the Top 3 Schools in the ACC for the fourth successive year. We were runner-up to Sacred Heart College and, as ever, we beat a number of excellent and highly competitive Schools. A number of people commented on the heart of our students over the course of the day!

Their spirit, camaraderie, resilience, effort and performance cannot be faulted. I can confidently say that our ACC Squad values of ‘Hardwork, Dedication & Ambition’ were exhibited once again by all students; I am truly proud of all members of the Squad. Most students attained personal best times which is all we can ask for!

The Top 5 ACC Schools of the 71 competing were:

Everyone’s individual commitment to a group effort is what makes a team work, and this was clearly evident in the squad. Students involved committed and proved their willingness by dedicating their time and energy to something they all believed in.

All Squad members ran exceptionally strongly in their respective age groups. However, Louie Oakes, Samuel Holroyd and Abigail Graham are mentioned for qualifying for the elite ACC Honorary All Star Team for a second year. Special mention to both Georgia Morgan and Mia Lockwood for being selected for a fourth occasion meaning they will receive the prestigious ACC Letters Award, which is one of the State’s highest schools sporting achievements, later in the year.

Overall, the School achieved the following positions:

  • Overall Boys: 4th (613 points)
  • Overall Girls: 2nd (402 points)
  • Combined Aggregate Placing: 2nd Overall (1015 points)

Many thanks to all those involved in voluntary helping during the day along with my valued coaching team of Mr. Fussell, Mr. Watkins, Mr. Hall, Mr. Carr and alumni Savannah Steinbach.
