Our Primary Student Leaders led a meaningful and poignant ANZAC Day Assembly on our first day back this term. Students were guided through the meaning of ANZAC in the past and what it means to us today.

The assembly began with the welcome and acknowledge of country and a blessing from Reverend Dave. The significance of the ANZAC experience and how this changes for each generation was shared. Mr Wood read the story about “My Granddad Marches on ANZAC Day”.

During the wreath ceremony, one student from each grade placed a rose around the wreath.  All students stood for the Last Post and the Rouse, but adding to the sombre mood were the words of the Ode read by the Lachlan Fisher. The assembly finished with the Primary Year 3 to 6 Choir and School Band performing “Spirit of ANZACs”.
