Finance Officer

The School is seeking a professional and enthusiastic administrator to join our fast-paced Business and Administration Team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the School, focusing on Accounts Payable and Receivable. The Officer will work closely with the Assistant Business Manager to process invoices, oversee transactions, prepare financial reports, and provide a high level of customer service to the School community.

This position is 0.94 FTE, fixed term for 18 months, with the possibility of going permanent.

In addition, there is one week off during the April, June/July and September/October school holidays while still having access to four weeks annual leave.

Daily hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm, however some flexibility is required for evening events and meetings. Start date to be negotiated with the successful candidate, to commence as soon as possible.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Inputting invoices into the accounting system and processing all creditor payments.
  • Completing month end and end of year reconciliation processes.
  • Processing tuition fee payments from families.
  • Coordinating the annual student booklist process including liaison with staff and the nominated supplier.
  • Responding to queries in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Providing backup switchboard support for Main Reception and assisting in the student Health Centre when required.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • 2+ years’ experience in administration support
  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good keyboard and data input skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Discretion and confidentiality 

Desirable Selection Criteria

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Applied knowledge of Alii and/or Synergetic and iChris (Frontier) systems
  • Previous experience working in a school setting
  • First Aid and CPR training certificates
