IT Support Officer

The School is in search of a dedicated and motivated IT Support Officer to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will take charge of the IT Help Desk, providing troubleshooting assistance and delivering quality customer service to students, staff and parents.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent position. The commencement date can be negotiated with the selected candidate and is intended to commence as soon as possible.

This role is ideally suited for individuals who have recently completed or are in the final stages of completing a TAFE or university IT qualification and are eager to gain hands on experience in a professional environment.

The offered salary is $61,963 per annum plus superannuation at the statutory rate and leave loading.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email or in-person
  • Assist users with software installations, configurations and updates and address inquiries about hardware and software functioning
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access rights as needed
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, assist with internet related matters and provide password and account support
  • Conduct basic hardware repairs and replacements, including peripherals and device setup
  • Maintain detailed and current documentation of support cases and resolutions

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Possession of relevant entry-level IT certifications (or soon to be completed)
  • Skilled in basic troubleshooting for hardware, software and network issues
  • Familiar with fundamental networking concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions
  • Clear communication of technical information to non-technical users
  • Creative problem solving of technical challenges
  • Effective task management to meet deadlines and service agreements
  • Adaptability to changing IT environments and a proactive learning attitude

Desirable Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a school setting
  • Competency in configuring Windows AD group policies
  • Understanding of operating systems and networking concepts
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Experience with Intune management solution
  • Possession of First Aid and CPR training certifications
