Science Technician

We are seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic Science Technician to join our School for in term one commencing in January 2026.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of support for teaching staff by assisting in the preparation of practical lessons. They will show excellent attention to detail when setting up equipment and materials, ensuring all practical sessions run smoothly and safely.

This position is 1.0 FTE, fixed term. This is a long service leave cover position for Term 1 only.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or higher qualification
  • Laboratory Technician experience
  • Current knowledge of OHS regulations including requirements for conducting, documenting and identifying risk assessments/hazards
  • Proficiency with ICT technology including booking systems and learning management systems
  • The ability to work collaboratively as a team member and also independently
  • Knowledge of apparatus, equipment, chemicals and materials used in the science laboratory
  • Experience when using materials and equipment for chemical synthesis

Desirable Selection Criteria

  • Experience in working in school laboratories
