Students in Year 5 have been investigating Light as part of the Science curriculum.  As an engaging hook to this topic, we designed an integrated Inquiry lesson to explore how Holograms work and can be made.

Using precise measurement, cutting and folding skills with OHP film, students worked together to create a transparent pyramid. When inverted and placed on and Ipad or laptop with Hologram videos from the ‘Holho’ collection on Youtube, the pyramid reflects the images to form the 3D illusion of a moving Hologram.  Students were thoroughly amazed by this Inquiry project, and an abundance of student-led questions were formed from the experience to direct the term program.
