“Yay! … We have made it to the end of term!”

“Yay!” … I hear the corporate cry of many students and staff. “We have made it to the end of term!” Others cannot raise the “yay” as they are too exhausted!  To say that the year-to-date has been a busy or traumatic one for many in our school community would be a significant understatement!

The holidays therefore, will bring a welcome respite. Knowing that, my prayer for you all is that you have the opportunity to rest and relax, to recover and to recharge, to refocus and to reset for the onset of Semester two. This is an end of term prayer that I am offering for all in our community. You may wish to join me in offering this prayer.

Loving God, at the end of this term we give you thanks:

For all the teaching and learning
that have taken place in our school,
both in and out of the classroom.

For the talents and gifts that have been shared
and the challenges that have been faced.

For the burdens that have been lifted,
the hurts that have been healed,
and for the respect and care that have been given.

We give thanks for the friendships that have begun
and for those that have grown.

For the faith that has been lived in our daily struggles,
the hope that has lifted our hearts on dark days,
and for the love that has kept us going.

We give thanks for our School community:
Bless our  students, our staff, and their families as we take our holidays,
may our time together leave us with memories to cherish.

We pray that you would pour out your love on us
and that we may return next term renewed and refreshed
ready to continue our journey together.

We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

God bless!
