Important Information for all Year 12 students

TISC

The contents of the recent TISC circular has been shared with Year 12 students. Of note for both parents and students are the Semester One 2021 Applications whereby the early bird application fee is $55 until 11 pm on Tuesday 30 September, after which the fee of $170 applies.

There is no cost for students to complete the initial registration process of a TISC Application.

Many of our students have received early unconditional offers, it is worthwhile considering a TISC application as this provides greater choice and flexibility at the end of the year.

Students should be fully cognizant of the requirements for conditional and unconditional offers for courses at a tertiary institution.

All Year 12 results and ATARs will be available Monday 21 December 2020, with the major TISC offer Main Round offers on Friday 15 January and Second Round offers Thursday 28 January.

Please read the full and latest circular (No. 6 for 2020) from the TISC website at: TISCOnline info@tisc.edu.au.

Year 12 Valedictory

At the time of writing, Valedictory preparations continue, despite the restrictions imposed by COVID-19.

As always, our aim is to send off our Year 12s with great celebration, dignity and gratitude for the contributions that they have made to the School over their many years as a Peter Moyes student. I am sure that they in turn will reciprocate these values during this time.

The WA Government may not have eased the number restrictions in a venue by October 15th; however, it is we are still planning for the main highlight of the week, Valedictory Evening in the Auditorium, will proceed with at least 2 guests per student in the audience.

The other planned events of Valedictory Chapel, House Captain’s Tree Planting and Afternoon Tea will provide our Year 12s with time for reflection, augmented by their receipt of individual package of Warm Fuzzies. It will be one of the last times the cohort will be together. The Student Leaders’ Breakfast and Leavers Assembly will see the students creatively kitted out in their costumes for the morning.

This time of the year always comes as a surprise to me – the year has flown!

Until Valedictory Week, all our Year 12s should be busy completing their courses and Certificates; always aiming for their best marks possible and those extra percentages. The Mock Examinations are scheduled for Week 10 this term; all General Pathway students will remain in their usual Timetabled classes, while the ATAR Pathway students will have completed their coursework in Week 9. Students are encouraged to be respectful towards their peers; their deadlines for assessments, minimising distractions in Academic Tutorials and social activities to ensure that everyone meets their academic commitments.

More details will come as to the Valedictory events planned for Week 1 Term 4. Until then, my best wishes to the Year 12s for the remainder of their secondary schooling.
