The Term Three Middle School Awards Assembly took place on Friday of Week 9, due to the Year 8 students being on Camp in Week 10, and was a celebration of both student achievement and our relationship with our Indonesian exchange school in Surabaya. Certificates were presented to all students who participated in ACC Athletics team who were placed fourth in ‘A’ Division, a fine achievement that is the culmination of our year in Inter-School sport.

Students’ musical talents were also on display, with Atida Gohwa singing ‘Stay’, accompanied by Year 11 student Amy Crocker on the piano. Will Hodgson accompanied vocalist Amy MacDonald with his guitar and they reprised their Term One performance of ‘Lashan Pelangi’, an Indonesian song. Our exchange students also displayed their talents with several performances; a dance entitled ‘Indonesia Menari’, a song entitled ‘Indonesia Pusaka’ and their closing song, ‘We are Australian’.

I also had the privilege of announcing the two Honours Award winners; a prestigious award given to students who demonstrate the School Values and have particularly achieved their personal best. This term’s winners were Amy MacDonald and Conor Bennett (Yr. 9) who both demonstrate outstanding commitment to their studies and the wider School community.
