On Tuesday 27th February 2018, it began: Peer Support 2018 has officially started after 64 Year 11 students raised their hands and volunteered to be positive role models to Year 7 students and assist in what is known to be quite a challenging period for some students. Every week, a series of structured activities enable the development of friendships and mutual support. Peer Support allows a safe environment where questions are welcome and help is always available. The program aims to create relations between students, enabling a smooth transition for the Year 7 students as they venture into Middle School. Personally, I remember what a huge help Peer Support was for me as a new member of not only Middle School, but of Peter Moyes Anglican Community School. In the same sense, I hope this year’s group is able to give back to the Year 7 students what we gained all those years ago.
