Secondary School Inter-House Athletics Carnivals

It was great to finally be able to conduct a full Inter House carnival with restrictions lifted for the start of term 3. The Middle & Senior School Inter-House Athletics Carnivals were blessed with fine weather for both days; sunshine, and little wind.

Both carnivals ran smoothly and the competition on the day was fantastic as students competed in their House colours for their respective sub school shields and the overall House athletics championship trophy.

As ever, the standard of individual athletics was exceptionally high in some cases, demonstrating why we continue to perform exceptionally well in the ACC ‘A’ division.  A total of ten records were broken across both days with some outstanding performances and long-standing previous records broken.

  • Alana Clarke (Year 7 Cuthbert) Discus 26m.91cm
  • Hayley Mann (Year 8 Hollows) 200m 29.06s
  • Lucy McNamara (Year 8 Lingiari) 400m 1.08.71s
  • Leola Hall (Year 8 Hollows) Long Jump 4m75cm

Senior School House Athletics Individual Champion Results

Clearly the wind was in the right direction with three excellent marks set in the Long Jump across the two days with some fine performances.

Special mention must also go to Jack Hathaway who also broke the long-standing year 11 400m record (12 years) but he could not quite beat Daniel who was on great form throughout the day.

The overall results are accredited to those students who participated tirelessly on the day to gain valuable points for their House. The Middle School Shield was decided by 2 points showing the importance of every point matters!
