Congratulations to the Senior School Term 4 Honour Award recipients Joshua Melendez and Nicole Bothma

Presented at the Honour Award Assembly in Week 7, the citations for the students read, in part as follows:

Joshua Melendez

Joshua is a quiet and friendly member of Lingiari House and he serves as a strong role model and has been, over his time in Senior School, a very active participant and supporter of his fellow Lingiarians.

Joshua is a very diligent, extremely hard working student who is an independent learner, constantly striving to achieve his personal best, achieving excellent results this year.  Joshua assists other students daily in class and often peer tutors fellow classmates with course concepts.  He also played an active role in working with the Year 7 students as part of the Peer Support Programme this year.

Joshua is an outstanding student who is very deserving of this Honour Award.

Nicole Bothma

Nicole is a mature and friendly student who embodies all of the School’s values. She works hard in class and strives to identify gaps in her knowledge. She has made a particular effort to develop the effectiveness of her study techniques and displayed initiative and focus in seeking out advice and resources to assist her. This will serve her in good stead as a Year 12 Prefect in 2020.

She is a valuable and active member of our House Tutorial Group, who consistently demonstrates genuine concern for others and serves as an outstanding role model to younger students.

Nicole achieved her Sports Colours, represented her House carnivals, ACC Inter-School and CAS sports. She was a Year 11 Peer Support Leader and coached Year 5 and 6 Netball. She attended this year's Annual Anglicare Sleep-out, to raise awareness of the issue of "homelessness" and the Amanda Young Foundation Leadership camp.

Nicole is very aware of the value of her education and this is evident in her consistent application to all tasks presented to her.
