On the 22nd of June, West Australian Opera came to visit the Year 8’s and performed a workshop. The workshop included interactive activities involving how to manage our breathing in such ways as opera singers do, how to monitor our dynamics and even how to conduct.
They engaged students by getting them to participate by conducting and leading groups in singing a canon and holding up lyrics. The Year 8’s thoroughly enjoyed their incursion and we’d like to thank the West Australian Opera and the Music Department for giving us a fun afternoon.
